Here are some of the most common services provided by dental labs:
Fixed (Crowns)
Fixed restorations are attached to existing tooth structures or implants in the mouth and are not intended to be removed by patients. This usually requires a custom fit with unique dimensions. Dental lab technicians use anatomical expertise, artistic skill, and technology to create fixed implants that fit correctly. Options for fixed services include:
Emax
Emax is a crown made of lithium disilicate ceramic material. It’s known for its strength, durability, and precise fit. This unique ceramic is a high-strength and cost-effective solution for single-unit anterior or posterior crowns. Emax is also used for veneers, inlays, onlays, and screw-retained implant crowns. Mabel Dental creates Emax crowns that are layered for additional strength.
Full Cast
Gold full-cast crowns offer superior durability in a posterior crown. Mabel Dental’s full-cast crowns are available in a variety of options to meet your patient’s needs, such as non-precious, two percent yellow gold, a mix of white and yellow gold, and sixty percent yellow gold. These crowns seal extremely well and are resistant to leakage or recurrent tooth decay. Due to their significant strength, full-cast crowns also resist fracture and corrosion.
Porcelain Fused to Metal
Intended for crowns or full-arch bridges, porcelain fused to metal restorations (PFMs) works well with screw-retained implants, attachments, and partial dentures. These porcelain fixtures have a natural appearance, are cost-effective, and are durable. Mabel Labs has a variety of PFM options to reduce the risk of crown shifting or dislodging.
Removable (Dentures/Partials)
Removable restorations can be for those missing all or some of their natural teeth. Options include dentures, partials, and mouthguards. A removable bridge might be preferred by a patient or recommended over fixed restorations to avoid surgery or provide a more cost-effective option. Choices for removables include:
Dentures
Dentures provide various benefits, including speech, chewing, sleep, and oral health. Mabel Dental Lab accounts for a patient’s skin tone, face shape, gender, and tooth form when creating our custom dentures. Our dentures are also heat-cured to retain soft tissue and prevent breakage. Denture base material is available in four shades to further match and customize your removable dentures.
Partials
Partial dentures replace gaps from missing teeth without the need for implants. Traditional partials use a metal frame, but Mabel Dental also offers non-metal options. Depending on your patient’s needs, different options are available:
- SLM: Selective laser melting is a digital workflow that produces metal partials with an excellent fit. Physical imprints are scanned and then fabricated with SLM. These partials are easier to clean and have lower tissue irritation. This is the most common type of metal framework.
- Flexible partials: Our flexible partials option gives patients a denture that is strong enough to last but flexible enough to provide long-wearing comfort. This material comes in various shades to match gum color and can be combined with metal frames if needed.
- VisiClear Framework: This material takes on the color of the surrounding teeth and tissue. It is resistant to stains and odors and has acrylic saddles added to the frame area, allowing easier repairs.
- DurAcetal Framework: A tooth-color resin available in multiple shades, DurAcetal is strong and bacteria-resistant. It also has a unique, comfortable “snap fit.”
Mouthguards
Custom-fit mouthguards from a dental lab offer a high level of protection for athletes. They fit the athlete’s mouth better, are more comfortable, and don’t interfere with speech or breathing during play. The mouthguards from Mabel Dental are thin and comfortable, and they hold their shape longer than standard options.
Nightguards
Nightguards or bite splints can make a difference for patients who grind their teeth by preventing tooth damage and reducing jaw tension. Custom-fit guards offer more protection and often last longer than over-the-counter versions. We have a large selection of guard options, including soft, hard acrylic, combination, and 3D printed versions.
Implants
Dental labs work with the planning and fabrication of dental implants, such as crown over implants and overdentures. The lab must be involved in creating the treatment plan and using imaging techniques to get a precise fit. Mabel Dental offers comprehensive planning for implants and attachments. We stand by our product and offer a laboratory warranty along with the manufacturer’s warranty.
Orthodontics
Full-service labs may offer orthodontic appliances. Retainers, expanders, and spacers can all be fabricated in a dental laboratory. Orthodontic options from Mabel Dental include scans to create custom-fit retainers, sleep apnea appliances, and holding appliances. We have a large selection of orthodontic options, with many available in multiple color options.
